KUCHING: A total of 12 water tankers have been received by the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) as of May 8.
“12 more water tankers will be received by the department in mid and end of May whereby each JBALB division will receive two units of water tankers.
“With this assistance, the Ministry of Utilities believes that faster action will be taken by JBALB in order to ensure that consumers continue to receive clean water supply,” it said in a statement yesterday.
Meanwhile, a handing over ceremony of water tankers was held Wednesday at the JBALB Headquarters, Kuching, which was officiated at by Utilities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.
In this regard, JBALB through the Utilities Ministry thanked the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg who had approved the purchase of 24 units of water tankers for the use of its department especially during the festive and dry seasons.
The department also credited the state Public Works Department (JKR) for the close cooperation given in ensuring that water tankers are received in the months of April and May.
