KUCHING: A total of 300 packs of ‘bubur lambuk’ were distributed to motorists passing through Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman Yaakub, Petra Jaya here yesterday.

The distribution of the ‘bubur lambuk’ was organised by the staff of the Royal Malaysian

Customs Department (JKDM) Sarawak in collaboration with the Customs Islamic Welfare Agency (Bakiska).

Sarawak Customs director Datuk Sharifah Halimah Tuanku Taha said she hoped the programme would help strengthen the relationship and cooperation of JKDM staff with the people, especially in the effort to gain the people’s cooperation pertaining to giving information in smuggling activities.

The programme was also part of the department’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative in giving back to the community.

More than ten officials of the department were involved in distributing the porridge.
