KUCHING: The Hikmah Exchange building, which is still under construction and is expected to be complete next year here at Jalan Haji Taha, will be a modern building which features smart technology.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said once the Hikmah Exchange is ready, it can alter the landscape of Kampung Masjid and Kampung Bintangor, as well as Jalan Haji Taha itself in the next few years.
“The modern building will also symbolise the development of the Malay community so that they could participate in property development in the future, he added.
He said this during the opening ceremony of Bubur Lambuk Saberkas 2019 at Jalan Haji Taha here on Sunday.
Meanwhile, he also wished to transform Kuching into a smart city, using “big data” that enables people to know what’s going on in the city via their smart phones or laptops.
According to the chief minister, who is also president of Saberkas, every year Saberkas has organised the distribution of “bubur lambuk” programme in cooperation with Bernas which will cover all places in Sarawak and will be distributed to the needy and less fortunate.
On Sunday, the programme saw the distribution of 800 packs of “bubur lambuk” and from that number, 20 received donations to ease their burden during this Ramadan month.
