KUCHING: A lorry and its driver were detained by the Sarawak Forest Department (SFD) enforcement team at Jalan FAC Rambungan-Kuching here recently.
According to a statement from the department on Thursday logs worth RM15,000 were seized.
“Enforcement officers from the Kuching Forestry Office had stopped and inspected a lorry carrying logs, and the driver had failed to produce any related documents.
“The inspection found that the lorry was carrying 70 short logs of various sizes and species without any SFD mark.
“This is an offence under Section 95(1) of the Sarawak Timber Ordinance 2015,” the statement added.
All the items including a lorry and three spare keys were kept at the Kuching Forestry Office for further action.
