KUCHING: Three friends aged between 16 and 20 were seriously injured after they were believed to be racing along Jalan KM 13, Jalan Bau-Serikin on Sunday morning.
Bau police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said one of them who was severely injured was transferred to Sarawak General Hospital for treatment.
He said initial investigations revealed they were racing along a dark road with no street lights when they collided into one another.
The blood samples of the three of them was taken to be tested and Poge said the case is investigated under Section 43(1)(A) of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
He called upon those who witnessed the accident to contact Inspector Mahadir Samah, head of IPD Bau Investigations and Enforcement Division (016-5827772) or investigating officer Inspector Rahiman (013-9892382).
