KUCHING: Sadness was written all over the face of single mother Siti Rohayu as she counted her loss.

A fire at 2.45pm yesterday totally destroyed the upper floor of the mother-of-four widow’s house at Kampung Tabuan Melayu here.

Siti Rohayu and her four children aged between five and 25 years were in the house when the fire started in one of the rooms on the upper floor.

Met at her burnt home, Siti said they all rushed out and could not save anything at all.

“We did not think of saving our belongings. I am just glad that we all made it to safety,” she said, teary-eyed.
