KUCHING: Sarawak Pengiran Heirs and Descendants Association or Pertubuhan Keturunan Dan Waris Pengiran Sarawak (PKWPS) is committed to providing educational and skills learning programmes to ensure its community’s growth.

Its chairman Dayangku Sa’adiah Datuk Sri Awang Hipni said although PKWPS was an association based on family ties, she assured that with contribution and support from the state government, this would enable them to help provide knowledge in technology and ICT to the grassroots.

“With the state pursuing digital economic transformation, PKWPS will help grassroots in raising awareness among our people, regardless of ethnicity and religion, to the need of embracing these advancements for the betterment of our social economy.

“We must embrace technology and continuously enhance skills and knowledge to keep abreast with the latest public administration methods,” she said at a Hari Raya programme here recently.

Dayangku Sa’adiah added that the contribution and guidance from its patron, Datuk Awang Daud Awang Putra, who is also the Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd deputy group managing director, would enable the association to move forward to cater to the community’s welfare.

Meanwhile, Awang Daud said: “We are very new now but we will definitely come up with community programmes, to share my experience as a businessman, in an effort to not only power up the state’s economic growth, but also empower our youths with skills programmes.”

Over 200 members attended the event, including the Consulate General of Brunei Darussalam in Kuching, Consul General Pengiran Karitini Pengiran Tahir.
