KOTA SAMARAHAN: For the first time in its 27-year history, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) has been listed in QS World University Ranking (QS WUR) 2020 and was placed among the top 1,000 best universities in the world.
“Unimas is placed at 801 in the world,” said its vice-chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi.
He added that Unimas regarded the recognition as a manifestation of the strong team effort by the staffs, students and strategic partners as well as all its stakeholders in building a strong global brand for the university.
According to Kadim, Unimas’ strategic goals have always been to transform lives locally and globally through strategic plan that ensures sustainability for diverse and dispersed

“What this means to us in Unimas is that we can now focus on working on branding and positioning Unimas as a stronger brand image in order to attract more international students to study in Unimas.
“It will also help us in influencing strategic partners and collaborators by attracting the best global institutions to work with Unimas in the various academic sectors, be it research and innovation or teaching and learning excellence,” he added.
