MUKAH: SK Kampung Tellian here almost made a clean sweep of the just concluded English Spelling competition held last weekend.
The school won six categories out of the seven categories in the competition held at the Public Library of Dalat/Mukah District Council (MDDM).
The winners were Gwen Ashleigh bt James who won in the pre-school category, Hayden Donnis (Primary Year 1), Ellysa Athelia Lysandra Ras (Year 3), Gwen Calleigh bt James (Year 4), Wasillah Abdullah (Year 5) and Nursafira Median (Year 6).
Meanwhile, Mohd Adam of SK Agama Mukah won the Year 2 category which was coordinated by Rosmari Rapaee from the library.
Prizes to the winners were presented by chairman of Rakan Perpustakaan (Library Partner) Committee, Magdelena Yeo.
The objective of the competition was to enrich the pupils’ English vocabulary and words and to promote the importance of mastering the English language while they are young.
