KUCHING: A man reported missing by family members was found dead in a rented apartment in Jalan Song here.
The man — an engineer surnamed Sim from Jalan Arang — left a suicide note in Mandarin, telling family members not to hold anyone responsible for his death.
Family members had put up on social media on Monday that Sim had been missing for 24 hours and appealed to the public to contact them if he was seen.
A police patrol unit saw his car late Monday night and approached to investigate but the driver drove off.
Sim’s remains were found by a cleaner at about 2.30pm yesterday. He had blocked the openings in the toilet with tape.
Distraught family members were seen weeping at the scene with many shocked as to why he had committed suicide.
His car was also found at the apartment.
Police brought the remains to the Sarawak General Hospital for post-mortem.
