KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Seri Abdul Taib Mahmud conferred state awards and medals on 165 recipients at the Dewan Besar Astana Negeri here.
Topping the list was entrepreneur Ibrahim Baki who was conferred the Darjah Johan Bintang Sarawak (JBS).
Four others – Professor Dr Toh Teck Hock, Dr Hasmizy Muhammad, Dr Lani @ Lanie Daga and Wong Joon Siong – were conferred the Darjah Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS).
The Darjah Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) was conferred on eight recipients while 31 received Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB).
There were also 28 recipients of the Darjah Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS), Darjah Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (17), Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (40) and Darjah Bentara Bintang Sarawak (36).
Also present at the investiture ceremony were the wife of Abdul Taib, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib and other dignitaries.
