KUALA LUMPUR: As of June 30, 10,151 e-hailing drivers — or 62 per cent of 16,338 people — have passed the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) course and are qualified to apply for the PSV licence, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.
“This shows that the statement by the Grab Drivers Association claiming that only 10 — 50 per cent of e-hailing drivers pass in each class, as reported by Berita Harian on May 14, is inaccurate,” Transport Minister, Anthony Loke, said.
He added that he foresees the number of qualified drivers growing greatly by July 12 (when the Road Transport Department enforcement begins) following the introduction of an online PSV course on June 3. – Bernama
