MIRI: People of all races in Sarawak have been reminded to uphold the spirit of high tolerance.

“Outsiders are looking at us, thus we must show them how close we are with one another and let us be the good example of unity,” said Women, Family and Childhood Development Assistant Minister Rosey Yunus.

Speaking at the Gawai Raya gathering hosted by the Miri Resident office yesterday morning at the Sarawak Islamic Complex at Jalan Miri-Pujut here, Rosey pointed out that high tolerance was the key to greater development.

She added that racial harmony in the state should not be taken for granted as there would be no development in Sarawak without peace and stability.

Also present was Miri Resident Mastapa Julaihi.

Nearly 10 government agencies took part in the Gawai Raya gathering yesterday.
