MIRI: Pipe-laying work covering 11km from Pujut to Senadin here is expected to be completed in August this year.

Laku Management Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Ir Franklin Ucar said the project, once completed would help improve the water pressure along the area.

He urged consumers in the affected areas to be patient during the project period. Commenting on the construction of water reservoir in Bukit Selatan at Jalan Hills here, Franklin said the project undertaken by the Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB), was expected to be completed in January next year.Construction works on the project began in January 2018.

“Once completed, JBALB will hand it over to us to manage,” he said.

The reservoir has a capacity to store 27 million litres of water.

Franklin urged consumers to contact Laku hotline at 085-426626 if they come across burst pipeline or other water issues.

“Please do not hesitate to call our hotline for help, so that we can act fast to tackle issues related to water,” he said.

Earlier, Franklin led a delegation of 30 Laku staff to visit Miri Home for the Aged where they distributed goodies and cash to its 26 residents. The residents were also treated to lunch by the visitors.
