SAMARAHAN: A single-storey house at Kampung Lot Baru, Tanjung Bundong here was destroyed in an early morning fire yesterday.
Kota Samarahan Fire and Rescue Department rushed a team comprising nine firefighters to the scene soon after receiving a distress call.
Operations commander senior assistant superintendent Jackson Anyie Ngau reported that the house measuring 20×30 feet was 80 per cent burnt in the fire. The firemen managed to prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby house.
A 24-year-old man who was staying in the house at the time of the incident did not sustain any injuries.
Loss to properties and the cause of the fire are yet to be ascertained.
