MIRI: A local tour guide who went missing since last Friday evening (July 12) in Mulu National Park was found dead by a search and rescue (SAR) team yesterday morning.

Roviezal Robin, 20, who is believed to have drowned in a river, was found lying on some rocks and strips of wood 500 metres from the entrance of Deer Cave.

The body was shirtless and shoeless but the shorts and socks were still intact.

Roviezal’s shirt and shoes were found 400 metres from where his body was found.

The brave young man is said to have sacrificed himself to save the wife of Dutch tourist Peter Hans from drowning during a flash flood.
