LAWAS: A teacher who has gone AWOL (absent without official leave) from a school here was arrested by police in a house at Kampung Bangkiyai Sundar near here for a drug-related offence.
ASP Jason Ak Baya who led the arresting team with Inspector Zulpaka Bin Aidie confirmed that the suspect was arrested under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drug Act, 1952.
It was the second time the teacher has been arrested for drug abuse.
Drug weighing 3.4 grams and the suspect were later taken to the police station for further action.
Meanwhile, three jobless men from Kpg Sebangang, Jalan Long Tuma here are being detained by police for drug abuse.
The trio was inside a car and when police found substances believed to be drugs inside the car.
The police team was led by ASP Jason Ak Baya. The suspects will be charged under Section 39A (2) of the Dangerous Drug Act, 1952 and being detained at Lawas police station.
