KUCHING: An unhappy landowner is in a dilemma as his land is being used by his kampung folk for a community hall project allegedly without his
consent and approval.
The landowner approached Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau chief Wilfred Yap for assistance.
He said that he was in a difficult situation as he did not want to deprive his fellow villagers of a community hall but also claimed that it was not fair for him to be deprived of his land.
According to Yap, he had written an appeal on the landowner’s behalf, to the Member of Parliament and state assemblyman of the constituency in which the village is situated, for their assistance to arrive at an amicable settlement by way of reasonable compensation for the alleged encroachment or trespass due to the construction of the community hall on the land.
Yap said they should come to a win-win situation for all parties concerned.
