JULAU: Residents of a longhouse, Rumah Jawang, in Jalan Bukit Seri here, were in total shock when their kitchens were destroyed by a landslide yesterday.
The incident that occurred about 12.00 noon approximately reportedly involved seven kitchens of the 43-door longhouse.
Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the department received a report on the incident at 12:16 pm and arrived at the scene located approximately 125 kilometers from the Bintangor Fire Station, at 3.40pm.
“So far, we have identified a total of 30 people being affected by the incident. However, all are safe and no casualty has been reported, “he said.
“Consequently, the residents are advised to be more careful because of the soil conditions in the area including being reported unstable.
“This incident did not involve the transfer of any victims and so far; the total loss is still under investigation,” he said.
