SAMARAHAN: The ‘Minggu Destini Siswa’ (MDS) Interim session for July was held at UiTM Sarawak’s Jubilee Hall and officiated by UiTM Sarawak deputy rector of Student Affairs Assoc Prof Dr Mohammad Isa Mohamad.
A total of 2,128 students have enrolled with the university’s undergraduate programmes for July.
The programme will last for four weeks starting from July 20 until Aug 19. Several activities will be held during the MDS such as a briefing on academic and student affairs.
For the Interim Week, modules such as English Placement Test (EPT) and Modul Global Talent will provide students with the knowledge and skills to prepare themselves for their studies at the university.
Meanwhile, UiTM Sarawak Branch’s Staff Club (Kekita) recently extended assistance to flood victims of Long Busang, Hulu Empangan Bakun, Belaga.
Long Busang was hit by flood on June 3, just before Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
The assistance, in the form cash, was presented by a representative of the club, Dr Mohd Khairol Jambli who also represented the management of UiTM Sarawak.
The assistance was handed over to Long Busang chief, Yusof.
To get to Long Busang in the Kapit Division, the group had to take a long and rough journey.
The journey by express boat took three hours from Sibu to Kapit before continuing by road for six hours from Kapit town.
