ASAJAYA: A total of 205 participants from Tanjung Apong village took part in a marathon organised by the Tanjung Apong Neighbourhood Area yesterday.
Other villagers who took part in the event came from Kampung Subi, Beliong and Tambirat.
Asajaya District office administrator Hasanah Bujang said the marathon was organised to foster unity and promote a healthy lifestyle to the people here.
According to her, 80 per cent of the participants comprised young people from nearby villages.
“We hope this could be held on a regular basis,” said Hasanah.
The marathon competition was divided into four categories, namely primary, secondary, senior and veteran.
