MIRI: A female driver in her late 20s experienced a terrifying moment on Tuesday night while driving along the Miri Coastal Road.
The victim, who was travelling alone, was intercepted by a vehicle — a four-wheel drive (4WD) — when the incident occurred.
Fortunately in the 8pm incident, the woman was left unharmed as the suspect(s) fled the scene after snatching her bag. A police report has been lodged by the victim. According to sources, she was forced to pull over after the 4WD came out of nowhere. One of the suspects then exited the vehicle, brandishing a machete, and walked towards her vehicle.
Fearing for her safety, the victim sat still in the driver’s seat and watched helplessly as the suspect took away her bag from her vehicle before fleeing the scene.
Among those stolen aside from her identity card and bank cards were cash amounting to RM870.
As at press time, no arrest has been made as police are still investigating the case.
