Lover’s tiff ends by a nylon rope; man leaps off 12th floor
KUCHING: A car wash employee hanged himself to death after a quarrel with his girlfriend yesterday. He just started work two weeks ago.
Tony Blairs Cirfew, 21, from Kampung Moyan Ledang, Asajaya was found dead at the end of a nylon rope fastened to a wooden frame in a rented house at Taman Bong Chin, Rock Road.
His mother who was at the morgue with his girlfriend said she heard that Tony was drinking with some friends on Thursday night.
A colleague who went to answer the call of nature at 4.30am was shocked to find Tony dead. He was the one who called the police.
His girlfriend denied quarrelling with him but police found in Tony’s handphone some text messages from her which might have made him depressed.
On CCTV, they saw Tony going to the front of the car wash about 2am to look for ropes.
Kuching police chief, ACP Awang Din Awang Gani, confirmed Tony’s death and said the police are waiting for a post-
mortem on the body to be done.
He said their initial investigation revealed no foul play.
