KUCHING: Police have arrested a senior citizen who made three rifles with the help of a Google manual.
Kuching police chief Assistant Commissioner Awang Din Awang Gani said the 60-year-old suspect was arrested at a shop lot in Jalan Mendu at around 6.45pm on Tuesday.
“The suspect was found to have three rifles and several marbles believed to be used as ammunition,” he said in a statement yesterday.
He said the suspect lived alone and worked as a general worker.
“The suspect’s purpose in making the guns was to protect himself.”
Awang Din said the suspect was also found to have several previous criminal records.
He is being investigated under Section 8 (A) of the Firearms Act 1960.
