KUCHING: Police, during their ‘Ops Dadu’ last Saturday, arrested three foreign men for alleged involvement in illegal online gambling at an eatery in Batu Kawah New Township.

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the suspects, who are Indonesians from Sambas, were rounded up at 5.40pm.

“Initial investigation revealed that they were workers of the illegal online gambling organisation.

“We seized nine mobile phones, slips of paper containing access passwords, and RM303 in cash,” he said when contacted.

He pointed out that the suspects and the seized items have been handed over to the investigating officer (IO) for further action. The case is being investigated under Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.
