BALINGIAN: The state government under the leadership of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will continue to upgrade the houses of the rural population.

Last Sunday, Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi went around his constituency to monitor the progress of state government projects under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) of ‘Program Penambahbaikan Rumah Miskin Sarawak’ (PPRMS) for the year 2018.

The areas involved were Rh Tinggom, Rh Ngelantar and Rh Jamit.

The three projects, which started last July and were completed in the same month, involved repairs to damaged homes through “gotong-royong” (group work) by the Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) of their respective villages.

Abdul Yakub also had the opportunity to meet the residents and Tuai Rumah involved as well as listen to the issues arising from the projects.
