MIRI: Entrepreneurs in the agriculture sectors are urged to embrace modern marketing approaches to reach their prospect effectively, urged Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin.
“Via online marketing approach, you can do global market penetration for your products,” opined Lee.
He was met after launching the state-level carnival and straight-from-the-farm sale yesterday at Bintang Megamall, here.
Lee believed that through the usage of online marketing strategy, agriculture entrepreneurs will be able to sell off their local products, not only for domestic but also to the outside market.
“By penetrating the global market, it will not only benefit you as entrepreneurs but the country as well,” he said.
Apart from the online marketing to help boost their sales, Lee also pointed out the need for their products to have attractive packaging to attract customers.
The two-day carnival highlights a total of 35 booths showcasing wide range of local fruits which were being offered at a special rate.
Lee was impressed with this year’s participation, saying many young entrepreneurs are showing interest in the agriculture sector.
“It’s good to see that more young people are involved in the agriculture sector. It shows that they have keen interest in the industry,” he said.
Also present was Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (Fama) Sarawak director Shahid Abu Bakar.
