SIBU: A vehicle caught fire at the parking lot of a shop at Jalan Pedada here on Sunday morning. The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre (PGO) received a report of the incident at 6.18am and six Bomba personnel from the Sibu Fire and Rescue Station using a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) were deployed to the scene.
The fire burnt a Toyota Camry car which was entirely destroyed in the incident. The firemen were able to control the fire from spreading to other areas.
No injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident which ended at 6.47am. The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still under investigation.
