KUCHING: Fifty participants attended a one-day basic first aid course organised by the Forest Department Sarawak (FDS) on Wednesday.
According to a statement yesterday, the programme which mostly involved FDS occupational safety and health committee members, aimed at exposing its staff to basic knowledge of first aid and thus, raising awareness and importance of first aid procedures.
In addition, it also aims to ensure that the right course of action is taken in the event of an accident or emergency and to develop the confidence of staff members to administer first aid. During the event, talks were delivered by Lt (PA) Mohamad Noor Amit and Lt (PA) Kamal Bujang from the state Civil Defence Force (APM).
