KUCHING: The Court of Appeal deferred to Oct 8 its decision in the appeal by a woman who has been sentenced to death for the murder of her husband, a former bank branch manager, in Sibu seven years ago.
The court was to have delivered its decision yesterday but Justice Datuk Zabariah Mohd Yusof, who headed a three-member panel, said the chronology of the case is incomplete for the court to make a decision in the appeal brought by Ling Hang Tsyr, 38.
Ling was sentenced to death by the Sibu High Court on Oct 17, 2017, after being found guilty of abetting in the murder of her husband Wong Jing Kui, 31, on June 14, 2012, in their house in Jalan Ulu Sungai Merah, Sibu.
“This court gives 14 days from today (yesterday) for the DPP (Tengku Intan Suraya Tengku Ismail) and counsel for the appellant (Lim Heng Choon along with Roger Chin and Steven Sia) to make their submissions,” said Zabariah who presided with Datuk Suraya Othman and Datuk Wira Kamaludin Md Said.
Ling, who was a bank clerk, was accused of having committed the offence with one Andrew Tiong King Guan, 31, who has been missing since Feb 10, 2015. – Bernama
