KUCHING: Kuching North City Council (DBKU) Garden Park has great potential to be transformed into a youth hub.

Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said a long-proposed aviary site at the park is worth investing in as an emerging hotspot for its strategic location.

“It is not an abandoned place as you can see the park is quite well-kept by DBKU,” he said during a media visit programme to ‘Sumpahan Jerunai’ filming scene at DBKU Garden Park in Semariang, yesterday.

The minister said he would propose to the state government to redevelop the park.

“Once it has been transformed, the park can be a place for youngsters to conduct activities like camping,” he added.
