KUCHING: A farmer sustained injuries on his left arm and right leg after being attacked by a man on Sunday night at 10pm.

The farmer from Taman Dayu Sebuku, Bau said he was walking out of a coffee shop and about to enter a store in Batu Kawa when a man charged at him with a machete and attacked him.

He fled the scene and the suspect got into a car and tried to run him over. He lodged a police report saying he did not know why he was attacked.

Police investigations revealed that the farmer had earlier on witnessed a quarrel between a man and woman nearby.

He had uttered the word, “What is the point?” angering the man who was quarrelling with the woman.

Police who were called to the scene saw the suspect fleeing in his car. The suspect then knocked into a burger stall while making his attempt to flee. The burger stall owner also lodged a police report.

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan confirmed the case and said they are looking for the suspect who had a quarrel with his wife.

Aidil said the suspect’s wife also lodged a police report that she was attacked by her husband with chairs and tables at their burger stall. She said her husband also threatened to bomb her parents’ house.
