MIRI: A carcass of a leopard cub was discovered by firefighters, who were dousing the peat fires in Kuala Baram, on Tuesday morning.

The discovery was made near Hamidah Welfare Complex and Miri Industrial Training Institute (ILP Miri).

Miri Fire and Rescue Department chief Supt Law Poh Kiong revealed that the discovery was made by Miri firefighters and volunteers from Naim Cendera Snd Bhd.

Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) has been notified of the discovery.

It was believed that the leopard cub was killed following the peat fires that razed the area.

It sustained injuries and did not survive the fire.
