KUCHING: Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (Jais) officials need to be innovative and creative in order to boost the department’s performance.
Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said the two aspects should also be accompanied by the courage to try new management methods.
“It’s important for every employee to think outside the box to get better results in service,” he said this when speaking at the Excellence Award Ceremony in accordance to the Integrity and Innovation Month of Jais and Sarawak Islamic Council (SIC) here, last Friday night.
Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also the Assistant Minister of Utilities (Water Supply), also express that he is very proud of Jais’ outstanding achievement including the 5-Star Excellence Achievements in Financial Management (Accountability Index) in the National Audit Report 2018.
In this regard, he wanted the high level of integrity shown by JAIS staff to be maintained.
“With high integrity, it will indirectly enhance innovative and proactive attitudes to boost the performance of the department,” he said.
The Pantai Damai assemblyman further explained that strong teamwork and high commitment of officers will also contribute to quality work.
The event also witnessed the prize presentation ceremony for the Mini KIK Convention, Jais and SIC children’s education excellence awards, service awards, service excellence awards, Jais director special award and SIC secretary general award.
Also present were SIC president Datuk Misnu Taha and Jais director Khalidi Ibrahim.
