KUCHING: A 20-year-old funeral parlour worker hanged himself with an electricity cable on Sunday evening.
The man was found hanged by his mother.
The man from Kpg Suba Bandar, Bau was found unconscious on the upper floor of his house at 7pm. After getting him down, the mother went to seek for help.
He was pronounced dead by medics who rushed to the scene after the distress call. They found traces of marks on his neck. The remains were then brought to the morgue.
Bau police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the case was classified as a sudden death and that a post mortem would be conducted.
According to the distraught mother, she has no idea why her son committed suicide and that they chatted in the afternoon.
She also said that her son was a slow learner and had been categorised as a special needs student.
Over the past months, Poge said the man was brought to the mental clinic several times due to depression and poor health.
He was also said to be behaving strangely and complained of being disturbed emotionally.
Poge added that the initial investigation revealed that there was no foul play.
