SIBU: The ‘Sarawak’s Pride – Most Number of Unity Short Stories Project Showcase’ is winding up its ten-day exhibition today at the Sibu BASE Jump Carnival.

Deputy State Secretary Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik together with Sibu Resident Charles Siaw, visited the exhibition on Wednesday and invited participants of the Sibu BASE Jump and members of the public to visit as well.

The project, initiated by Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS) and Sarawak Development Institute (SDI) on Feb 12, aims to collect the greatest number of unity short stories from Sarawak in a bid to showcase the spirit of unity among Sarawakians.

The showcase, which was launched in Kuching on Aug 3, displays stories that have been submitted by members of the public. Separate showcase was organised in Sarikei from Aug 30 to Sept 9 prior to the event here.

The project organisers would also like to notify members of the public that the showcase in Bintulu has been cancelled due to logistical difficulties.

The next location of the showcase will be in Miri (Oct 3-7) at Curtin University and at Dewan Suarah Miri (Oct 11-13).

YPS and SDI would like to call on members of the public to submit their short stories on unity to achieve the record number of 1,000 stories for the Malaysia Book of Records.

Some of the published short stories on unity will be available on YPS’ website soon to share with those unable to visit the maze showcase.

Stories can be submitted via e-mail to sarawakpride@gmail.com, by filling up an online form at the YPS website at www.yps.org.my/sarawakpride, or by sending a submission to the SDI WhatsApp number at 0136718063.

Updates on this project are also available via the website and social media (Facebook and Instagram) with the #sarawakpride hashtag.
