KUCHING: Sarawak business community hopes the federal government will provide fair allocation for development in the Budget 2020.
Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) president Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg said “More development projects, more bridges, hospitals and schools are needed. These are issues very important to us. We want to see progress and a developed state in 10 years’ time,” when asked on SBF’s wish list for Budget 2020, which will be tabled in Parliament on Oct 11.
Budget 2020 will be the second budget presented by the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Federal government after it assumed power in the 2018 general election.
Abang Karim said the SBF will hold a business engagement session with the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on October 8 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
The forum themed ‘Journey to 2030’ aimed at providing a platform in bringing together and engaging the business community in Sarawak.
It will also discuss the transformation that Sarawak and its key industry players will undertake as it marches towards realising its developed state goal by 2030.
