KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) is hold a grand 58th anniversary celebration starting today (Thursday) with a dinner this Saturday as the highlight.
In a press conference yesterday the Chairlasy of the SUPP Kuching Branch, Datuk Lily Yong said the objective of the celebration was to commemorate the 58th anniversary of the party where Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg will be the guest of honour.
Not wanting the public to miss out, she said the party’s kuching branch will hold a food fair followed by a Karaoke competition at the branch premises at 6pm today.
SUPP president Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian will officially launch the celebration.
There will be a beer drinking session and an exhibition showing the party’s history.
On Saturday there will again be a gathering where a beer drinking competition followed by karaoke competition will be held.
The highlight of the anniversary will be a dinner at Pullman Hotel where Barisan Nasional leaders are invited to attend.
More than 1,000 guests are expected to be present.
