Sarawak Head of Narcotic Crime Investigation Department, Supt Hasnir Abdul Hamid said police, acting on information received, raided a house at Chonglin Park, Tabuan Road on Monday at about 6 pm.
All four suspects, caught in a room, were unemployed. One of the men aged 37 was from Kpg Naie Baru, Kota Samarahan, another, 32, was from Taman Sukma while another, 35, was from Kampung Santubong.
The woman, 40, was from Kpg Moyan Laut, Asajaya.
During the police raid, the suspect from Kota Samarahan attempted to jump out of the window. He also threw a package out. Police managed to retrieve the package which contained five transparent plastic packages with 35.15g of syabu valued RM5,269.50. All the male suspects tested positive for drugs.
Hasnir said the four suspects faced five years’ jail or 10 strokes of whipping or both if they were found guilty under section 39A.
Hasnir said police managed to arrest the four suspects before they distributed the drugs because of a public tip-off. He thanked the informers and called the people to give them more information on drug peddlers. He assured that informers’ information would be kept confidential.
