KUCHING: A total of 36,021 candidates in Sarawak will be sitting for this year’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination from Oct 14 to Nov 17 for Phase 1 and Nov 5 to Nov 28 for Phase 2.
The State Education Department, in a statement yesterday said that the candidates would sit for their examinations at 323 centres state-wide and supervised by 2,394 invigilators.
It was revealed that out of the total number of candidates, 32,802 or 91.06 per cent are from government schools.
The rest comprising 1,045 candidates or 2.90 per cent are from private schools registered with the ministry; 416 or 1.15 per cent from schools under other government agencies; and 1,758 or 4.88 per cent are private candidates.
It added that the Malaysian Examination Syndicate has reminded all candidates to refer and keep tabs on the examination schedule for timing information and rules that must be adhered to during the examination.
“Candidates are also reminded to bring their respective identity cards (IC) or Certificate Card (Kad Perakuan) along with the examination slip registration to the examination centres to ensure smooth management and administration of the examination,” the statement reads.
