KUCHING: Swinburne University of Technogy Sarawak student Sue Zane Melanie, 22, from Bau and SMK Batu Kawa teacher Patricia Judin, 44, won the Miss Beautiful Chubby Queen and Mrs Beautiful Chubby Queen respectively at a competition held at Penview Convention Centre, Demak here on Saturday night.
Sue Zane also won two subsidiary titles — Best Catwalk and Miss Favourite (live voting), while Patricia, a mother of four children, won three subsidiary titles —Mrs Favourite (live voting), the charming dress special award and Mrs Beautiful Smile.
Eighteen beauties took part in this third edition of the annual pageant — eight in the Miss Beautiful Chubby Queen and 10 in the Mrs Beautiful Chubby Queen category.
The first and second runners-up of the Miss Beautiful Chubby went to Aishah Rahman from Sabah and Larissa Silvester Ragam respectively.
Meanwhile the first and second runners-up of the Mrs Beautiful Chubby Queen are Freda Kahang and Siti Sabariah respectively.
Sue and Patricia each received cash prize of RM700, voucher from Elite Estetik Medispa worth RM1,500, MG perfume by Zeeda, trophy, crown and bouquet of flowers.
The first runner-up winners each walk away with RM500 cash prize, voucher from Elite Estetik Medispa worth RM1, 000, MG perfume by Zeeda, trophy, crown, and bouquet of flowers.
Meanwhile second runner-up winners each received RM300 cash, voucher from Elite Estetik Medispa worth RM500, MG perfume by Zeeda, trophy, crown and also a bouquet of flowers.
Last year’s Miss Beautiful Chubby Queen Saswina A-ong and Mrs Beautiful Chubby Queen Magdaline Mijin crowned the respective winners.
The contest was organised by Angel Impact Event Management, a company owned by former beauty queen Angela Martin, while former beauty queen and a renowned Iban singer Datin Senorita Linang officiated at the event.
There were eight finalists for the Miss Beautiful Chubby Queen, namely Krolling Injut, Larissan Silvester Ragam, Rozalia Lucas, Aishah Rahman, Fiona Velin, Priscilla Vanessa Francis, Florennita Ricky and Sue Zane Melanie.
In the Mrs Beautiful Chubby Queen category, the ten finalists were Agniza Cathelin Rimbang, Bonia Matthew, Freda Kahang, Patricia Judin, Ruslimah Ona, Mudah Asiung, Suehana Ali Hassan, Siti Najwa Ahmad A. Nan, Siti Sabariah and Noreda Jumat.
During the event, Senorita was crowned ‘Queen of Queens’ in recognition of her long involvement in the beauty pageant industry.
She is the first Iban maiden to have won the Kumang Gawai Dayak for three consecutive years in 1966, 1967 and 1968.
She is also a recipient of Certificate of Appreciation at the Anugerah Perdana Seniman 2009 for her contribution to the entertainment industry in Malaysia.
