SIBU: A 17-year-old teen has been arrested for allegedly threatening to upload on the Internet compromising photos and videos of a girl he had sex with.
This came to light when the girl, 15, was questioned by her stepmother, 42, upon returning home after disappearing for two days.
Initially the girl was reluctant to say anything but she finally opened up, saying she got to know the suspect, who is a school
dropout, in November 2017 on social media. Both met for the first time in June this year in Kampung Banyok. They had sex three times in August and September in a pre-school in the village.
The girl’s stepmother had initially refused to lodge a police report as she wanted to look for the suspect.
She finally came forward to make a report on Monday after the suspect threatened that he would upload the girl’s nude
photos and videos on social media if they reported the matter to the police.
Sibu OCPD ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit confirmed the case, adding that the suspect was in custody to facilitate investigation while the girl had been referred to Sibu Hospital for
medical observation.
“The boy is being remanded for two days to assist investigation under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape,” said ACP Stanley.
