A special team of surveyors will be deployed to survey NCR land, said Urban Development and Natural Resources Assistant Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
He revealed this yesterday when replying to Datuk Ranum Mina (PSB-Opar).
Ranum had asked when the remaining NCR land would be measured by the Land and Survey Department.
“As of now, we have a total of 2019 pieces of land that have not been measured for the Palm Oil Plantation Scheme under Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Salcra).
“They will be measured in the nearest future. The Land and Survey Department will be forming a special team to measure the land in urgent cases,” he explained.
Len pointed out processes such as verification and presentation of the claims table were necessary before land titles could be issued.
“They have to be done carefully to ensure the integrity of the process so that it will not be questioned by certain quarters.”
He also explained that land titles produced through the Salcra scheme could not be transferred to other individuals.
“A written permission is needed from the Land and Survey Department before the transfer is allowed,” he said.
