KUCHING: Sarawak Teachers’ Union (STU) Kuching Division held two activities yesterday at their headquarters regarding lesson planning and taxes, which was attended by 122 members.

Its president Macky Joseph stated that the activities were part of the union’s continuous professional development programme — a workshop on electronic lesson plans (ERPH) and a talk on taxes and eFiling — held here at Wisma STU.

The workshop was presented by a teacher, Kamaruddin Maharip, whereas the talk was conducted by two officers from the Kuching Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) — K3 appraisal officer Haslinda Hassan, who gave a talk on large taxpayer audits, and E1 appraisal officer Rosliana Sibli, who gave a talk on employer service and scheduled tax deduction audits.

Macky also added that STU divisions across the state organised various activities yesterday.

In Sibu, a seminar by a STU representative was held at Laila Taib College from 7.30am to 12.30pm. It drew 137 participants.

In Miri a Zumbathon 2020 was held at the Miri State Library. It drew 120 participants.

STU Bintulu Division also held a school representatives’ workshop with 45 school representatives and committee members in attendance.
