BALINGIAN: A children’s carnival has emerged as a platform to foster young talent and enhance social and emotional skills.

Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi said that this carnival provided an opportunity for children to indirectly showcase their talents.

Abdul Yakub expressed gratitude to parents, nursery and preschool management, and the Dalat and Mukah District Council (MDDM) for their support in making the carnival a success.

“Such programmes instill confidence and a sense of identity in young participants,” he said in a speech read by his representative, Nolin Gendang, during the opening ceremony at the Balingian Community Hall recently.

He hoped that the carnival would become an annual event, allowing children to continually develop their talents and prepare for future challenges.

A variety of competitions were held during the carnival, including stage dance performances, colouring contests, mother-child decorating challenges, recycled fashion shows, and book guessing.

The Mukah, Balingian, and Dalat Library Friends Committee collaborated to organise the event.
