KUCHING: The Sarawak government welcomes the prospect of an MP from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) holding the Deputy Prime Minister post.
According to Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Deputy Minister for Transport, Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said if Sarawak was given this, it must have power in the administrative system.
“We see the division of power, but if the Deputy Prime Minister, he must have power and not just to warm the seat.
“We also want an effective Deputy Prime Minister to help the people, especially the people of Sarawak.”
Henry spoke to Ukas at the 19th Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting on Friday (Nov 25).
