KUCHING: It was an eventful evening for Federal Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri during her visit to Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) and Damai Beach Resort (DBR) last Saturday.

She was attending the reopening of SCV which also saw the unveiling of the new discounted rates for the tourist attraction in the hopes of increasing the number of visitors.

Accompanying her was State Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

Also present were the state ministry’s permanent secretary Hii Chang Kee; Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain; SEDC general manager Abdul Hadi Abdul Kadir; and SCV general manager Jane Lian Labang.

During her visit, SCV went all out presenting colourful cultural dances and costumes. They also served traditional Sarawakian dishes to guests.

The same night, Nancy and Abdul Karim also went to DBR to witness and enjoy the BBQ bonfire dinner which is a new feature initiated by DBR’s team.
