It wasn’t that long, and it certainly wasn’t the kind of kiss you see in movies these days, but it was wonderful in its own way, and all I can remember about the moment is that when our lips touched, I knew the memory would last forever.
A Walk to Remember, Nicholas Sparks’ novel about romantic love, tells the reader how true love begins. Love begins with hatred, sympathy, and commitment. This novel also tells that love may transform a person from bad to good.
What I found interesting was that it was written from Landon’s perspective. I’ve read very few romantic novels from the perspective of a man, let alone someone like Landon. Nevertheless, the way Sparks has portrayed Landon through the first-person narrative allows the reader to know how Landon truly feels rather than how he acts outwardly.
Jamie is a lovely character, the kind of person you’d want as a best friend, and Landon is the perfect gentleman towards the end of the story. There have never been two characters in a novel that I wished would end up together.
A Walk to Remember is a truly beautiful read. It’s a touching feel-good book with a bittersweet ending that’s easy to fall in love with. I’m sure it’s not a book that will appeal to everyone, but I highly suggest it to anyone out there. I’m glad I read this book, and I’m sure I’ll read it again!
A Walk To Remember’s main plot is that after Landon and Jamie meet, they develop a very strong and heartfelt relationship. They’ve only known each other for a few weeks and don’t know each other very well. Later, they discover the surprising truth about one other, which takes an unexpected turn in their relationship and twists the entire narrative around.
The theme of this book is love, but what the author is really trying to teach is that it’s okay to let people you love go. You may not realise it at first, but you will eventually learn to live without them. It’s okay if you never learn to move on; you don’t have to forget them in order to move on.
This book has excellent character development. Not only do both characters grow, but so does Landon and Jamie’s relationship. When Landon says, “Our love is like the wind, you can’t see it but you can feel it,” it’s a great line in the book that shows how their relationship is developing. That quote says so little but means so much.
There are many moral values that were thoughtful, touching, and highly valuable for readers, such as living in love and respect for one another, loyalty, and religious message. This book teaches people to love and respect one another.
To sum up, I highly recommend this book. It’s a great book for either a quick laugh here and there or an emotional rollercoaster of tears and laughter. Overall, I give this book 4.5/5 stars based on its story, characters, and message.
