BETONG: Malaysia’s implementation of the Central Database Hub (PADU) system is regarded as a positive step towards enhancing the country’s competitiveness in the regional economy.
Associate Professor Dr Bolhan Budeng, a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at i-CATS College University, stated that database hub systems have been utilised by advanced countries and global organisations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
He emphasised that the benefits of PADU extend beyond financial management and can forcast Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, inflation rates, and consumer price indexes.
“I am confident that the role of PADU will continue to grow in tandem with the country’s development. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s initiative is a forward-looking step that will propel Malaysia forward.
“This initiative will undoubtedly shape a competitive nation in the regional economy because it is crucial for managing the country’s economy with a central database hub system,” he said when asked for his views on the PADU system.
As the chairman of the Saribas Muslim Residents Association (PERWARIS), he believes that PADU will serve as a foundation or reference for future initiatives.
At the same time, he believes that PADU has the potential to reduce financial wastage in the management of the country’s finances.
“I anticipate that PADU can reduce financial wastage in managing the country’s finances. This is because government subsidies can be more efficiently managed by distributing them to those who are genuinely eligible based on accurate data in the PADU system,” he said.
It is also understood that this database hub contains comprehensive information that needs to be updated periodically to ensure that the people receive appropriate and deserving assistance.
Furthermore, the government has emphasised that the information stored in the PADU system is secure.
