MUKAH: It has been a quiet affair for many eating outlets here nowadays as not many customers are seen patronising the premises following a no dine-in order issued by the authorities which was in effect from May 12.

New Sarawak Tribune found that since the order was enforced, eateries were almost empty, except for a few workers and their owners.

A coffee shop owner, who preferred anonymity, said business is not so good now because of the lack of customers due to the no dine-in order.

She added that the number of customers coming in to order takeaways was also not many.

“It is quite a hard life for us now,” the woman in her 40s said today (May 20).

Her coffee shop, which catered for both foods and drinks, was one of the popular eating outlets in town.

Another coffee shop owner, identified only as Yek, also concurred with her.

The man, who is in his 50s, admitted that business is poor now since the no dine-in order was imposed.
